Three Reasons to Wear a Mask in a Truck Stop

Your safety remains our utmost priority. To ensure all TVC Pro-Driver associates feel comfortable selling in truck stops, we have ordered reusable masks for your security. To request a mask, please contact Associate Services at 833-588-1080.

You might be saying to yourself, “But most states are well into Phase 3 reopening plans. Why should I still wear a mask?” Wearing masks protects the public from others who have been exposed to the coronavirus, including people who aren’t currently showing symptoms. The CDC recommends people wear masks in public because virus droplets remain airborne after an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Here are some more reasons why wearing a mask is important:

Cases Are on the Rise

Coronavirus cases are currently on the rise in 38 states and the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Even so, states continue with reopening plans, and many people are returning to a more “normal” way of life. To remain vigilant and protect both yourself and your family against COVID-19, wear a mask as your first line of defense.

Masking Protects the Community

Don’t make the mistake of misunderstanding the reason behind masking — the act is meant to protect the community from the possibility the wearer will spread the virus. In fact, in a recent study, researchers calculated wearing face masks prevented more than 66,000 infections in New York between April 17 and May 9.

Help Prevent Another Shutdown

We all want to return to a more normal way of life, but we’ve got to crawl before we can walk. According to U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, “Some feel face coverings infringe on their freedom of choice — but if more wear them, we’ll have more freedom to go out.” Face coverings leads to less asymptomatic viral spread which means more businesses will open — and sooner.

Be sure you’re also wearing your mask the right way and washing it regularly. TVC is here to support you in any way possible, so please reach out if you need masks or have any questions!
