Your Guide to Commissions: Sell More, Earn More

Once you start selling MCA memberships, you can start earning money. We’ve already covered what happens after you make a sale and answered some basic commission questions. Here we’ll discuss the various ways you can increase earnings and calculate commissions for advanced individual memberships. These commission calculations are based on annual memberships you sell to an individual as long as the customer uses a recurring payment, such as a credit card or bank draft.

Understanding PGV Credits

TVC uses a point system to determine when sales associates qualify for higher commission rates and advancement. This system is called personal group volume or PGV. You earn PGVs when you sell memberships, your customers renew their memberships or you maintain a personal MCA membership. To earn credits for these, the memberships must have an on-going payment method.

PGV Credit Type Product Credit Value
Personal Sale Any MCA product 1
Renewal (at Anniversary Month) Any MCA product 1
Personal Sponsorship (New Associate) N/A 1/6 of the new associate’s PGV the first 3 months
Active Personal Membership in previous month N/A 6
1st Generation Associate with 36 PGV N/A 6

The magic number for PGVs is 36. When you earn 36 PGVs in a month, you qualify for commission advances. There are many ways to earn 36 PGVs, but here’s an example:

In one month, you sell 20 memberships so you earn 20 PGVs. You also had four members renew that month, so you earned four more PGVs. Now you are up to 24 PGVs. For this example, let’s say you also have two people who you signed up as MCA associates and both of them earned 36 PGVs from their selling efforts. From their sales, you get six PGVs per person for a total of 12 PGVs. Add these 12 PGVs to the 24 PGVs you made from your own sales and you have reached 36 PGVs for the month.

PGVs vs. personal sponsorship

When telling potential customers about the benefits of MCA, they may want to start selling it with you. If you sign someone up to sell MCA, you become the new sales associate’s sponsor.

Any sales associate working under your sponsorship can help you earn PGV credits based on the new associate’s sales. Under our formula, you will earn 1/6 of the new associate’s PGV credits for the first three months. So, if the new sales associate earns 30 PGVs in their first month, you will earn an additional 5 PGVs. This is one reason to share your sales secrets and tips with any new associate you bring on. When they sell more, you benefit as well.

Overrides: The benefits to building your team

Once you start building your sales team, you are also eligible to earn overrides. Overrides are a type of commission based on the sales made by the associates who you have recruited.

Any person who you personally sign up to be a new sales associate is considered to be 1st generation. For example, if you sign up your friend Joe to sell memberships, you can get a 1st generation override on his sales. If Joe then signs up Sue to be an associate, you can get a 2nd generation override on her sales.

The graph below shows how your title and monthly PGV credits influence how many layers of overrides you can receive.
